From the coach: "After 18 days without a game, this felt like the beginning of a new season. It would be great if every game started like this one did. The girls came out and jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead and scored 25 in the quarter on very hot shooting. We hit three 3’s (Sara 2, Carson 1) and got the ball to Kerrigan who didn’t miss and to Carson who only missed once in the quarter. We moved the ball well and our defense flustered Buffalo a little. To their credit they came right back. We missed some shots and started not moving on offense and got outscored by nine in the quarter to only be up by one at half. The second half was a half of runs. We would go up by 4 or 6 then they would answer with a 5-0 run to tie it up or take the lead. Their best player ended with 33 points on the night and many were tough shots in the lane or with someone flying at her. The game was back and forth and then we were down one and they had the ball. Liberty came up big in this quarter for us after having a tough start to the game. The girls had to foul and we traded points a couple of times. Their best player hit two more to put them up three and we came down and got the ball inside to Kerrigan and she scored. We fouled and they missed two free throws. Our girls advanced the ball down the floor quickly and found Carson going to the hoop and she converted a right-hand layup to put us up with 6.1 left. We survived a shot at the buzzer hitting the rim to eke out a one point win. This was a great way for the girls to come back from break and also to break in the new gym improvements. "
