Osage Claims Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Vienna

The Indians ran off with the lead late in the game in a 6-3 victory over Vienna on Thursday.  They trailed 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Maddie Arwood singled, scoring Whitney Byrd and Liberty Gamm.  In the frame they would go on to score three more on RBIs from Jaelyn Harrison and Avery Faulkner.

Osage would open up the scoring in the first inning as Jasmine Wilkes drew a lead off walk, stole second, and Gamm would drive her in on an RBI double.  Vienna took an early lead in the second inning off of two singles.

Carly Ward earned the victory in the pitcher's circle for the Indians. She lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out 13 and walking one.

Marsie Messersmith took the loss for Vienna. She allowed six hits and six runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out eight.

Gamm went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Osage in hits with two doubles.  Arwood and Harrison would collect two RBI while Gamm and Faulkner would add one of their own.
