Indians Grabs Lead In Seventh To Defeat Iberia

Osage took the lead late and defeated Iberia 4-3 on Thursday. The game was tied at two in the top of the seventh when Carly Ward doubled scoring Jasmine Wilkes who singled and stole second base to put herself in scoring position.  Paige Luttrell who drew a walk would be replaced by a courtesy runner, Autumn Doerhoff.  Doerhoff would score on an RBI ground out by Liberty Gamm to give the Indians a 4-2 lead.

In the first inning, Iberia got their offense started giving them a 1-0 lead.  Emma Ray would reach on a single and advance to second on a groundout to third.  She would reach third on an error by the thirdbaseman and score on a groundout to third.

In the top of the third the Indians would tie things when Ward would hit a solo homerun to right field with two outs.  Iberia would answer back in the bottom half of the frame as Perry, who singled, would score off of two errors by the thirdbaseman giving them the 2-1 lead.

In the top of the fifth the Indians would tie things up again when Luttrell would draw a walk.  Her courtesy runner Doerhoff would score on an RBI single from Liberty Gamm.  Osage would take the lead in the top of the seventh and not look back.

Ward took the win as she went seven innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out seven and walking zero.

Hailey Whittle took the loss for Iberia. She allowed two hits and two runs over two innings, striking out one and walking one.

Laney Halley started the game for Iberia. She lasted five innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out five and walking one

Osage racked up eight hits on the day. Ward and Gamm had multiple hits and two RBIs each on the day.
