Osage Softball Advances to District Championship

On Thursday night The Indians defeated the Salem Tigers in 9 innings to advance to the Class 3 District 10 Championship.  The Tigers opened up scoring two runs in the first inning off of two errors and two singles.  They would add one in the second and the fifth inning off of four errors and two hits.

Osage would score in the bottom half of the first when Liberty Gamm would single and be driven in by Carly Ward's double to right.  Their offense would be stagnent until the bottom half of the seventh with one out when Jaelyn Harrison would single up the middle.  Shelby Minor would reach on an error putting runners at first and second.  Paige Luttrell would double to left driving in both runs to put the Indians down by one with two outs when Gamm would double scoring Luttrell to tie the game.  In the bottom of the ninth Luttrell would lead off with a double and reach third on an error with noboby out.  Reese Good would step to the plate and on the second pitch of the at bat she would single to left for a walk off win advancing them to the teams fourth consecutive District Championship appearance.  They will face Bolivar on Saturday the 19th at noon.

Ward got the win on the rubber allowing four runs on five hits, walking one, and striking out nine.  Luttrell, Gamm, Ward, and Harrison would collect multiple hits for the Indians.
