The Lady Indians traveled to state-ranked Richland to play the Lady Bears on Monday night. This would be the Lady Indians fifth game in eight days and I thought that we didn't let that affect us in the slightest. We knew going in that Richland presented matchup problems for us because of their size and shooting ability.  In the first quarter we had some trouble containing them with our press. They got too many breakdowns and got the ball inside in transition too many times. I was pleased how we responded after an early timeout down 7-0. We basically played even the rest of the quarter, actually the. rest of the game was one point after the first two minutes.  Sara hit three three's in the first quarter and Reese had a transition bucket and continued to knock down Ft's, scoring five.  Down eight after one, Richland scored a bucket on their first possession. After that, the Lady Indians went on an 18-0 run until a Richland three at the halftime buzzer. In that run Sara hit another three, Paige R. hit a couple free throws and Liberty scored 13 points. It was as good a quarter as we have played all year. Up five at Richland was a great place to be. Regrettably, they got hot in the third from outside which opened up driving lanes that they could exploit and get it inside to their bigs. Reese hit two big threes to keep us in it and Liberty scored six more and we were still in it, only down four going in to the fourth. A couple threes and a couple turnovers let them stretch the lead to eight. We had a bit of let down on the defensive glass and gave them too many scoring opportunities.  They hit their free throws and were able to dribble out the clock for an eight point win. There are a lot of positives to take away from this game. The comeback from 10 down. Our team hitting eight threes. Shooting 77% from the FT line. A season high 60 points. It is still a work in progress, but I am very proud how the girls are improving as we go through the season.
