Osage Lady Indians vs Versailles Lady Tigers

The Lady Indians traveled to Versailles on a snow day to play the Tigers in a Tri-County conference game.  It is always tough to know how teams will handle not being in school and then playing a game. To the credit of our girls, they handled it very well. Both our offense and defense were really firing from the outset.  We got key three's from Syd and Sara, and our defense forced 11 turnovers in the first quarter with Reese and Syd racking up several apiece. After one quarter we were up 20-5 and playing really well. Versailles was not able to get in a good flow on offense because of our defense in the half court. In the second quarter the girls stayed focused and blew the game open. Sara had 14 points to lead us and we got scoring from four different Indians to have a 42-12 lead at the break. We switched our offensive focus inside in the third as Ella and Alisa each got four points, and when Sara hit her free throw on an and one, she got a new career high 30 points. The Lady Indians were up by 38 going into the fourth and offensively it was the Paige L. show. She hit three three's to score all nine of our points in the last frame. This was a great team game as everyone got extended minutes, which can only help us for the remainder of the season and beyond.
