Osage Lady Indians vs Boonville Lady Pirates

In what seems to be a common occurrence recently, we faced a state-ranked team and the beginning of the game felt as though we were running into the proverbial buzzsaw. We traveled to Boonville to play the Lady Pirates in the regular season finale for both teams. Boonville came in needing a win to secure first place in the Tri-County. I really felt like we were ready to go, but Boonville really got after us and bothered us with their pressure. They are excellent at making you feel as though something is there and then quickly closing it off and getting a steal. It was a game of runs and, to their credit, when we would score a couple baskets they always had a quick answer. We were down big by the half and when the pressure was slackened I was.proud of the way that we stayed focused and tried to get better all the way to the end. It was tough to end the regular season this way. This group of girls has had to deal with a great deal of adversity and I couldn't be more proud of how.they have handled it. They still pull for each other at all times, in all ways, and I hope that we can translate that into a first round district win. We finished the season 9-14 and 2-5 in conference. We are the #5 seed and play #4 seed Marshall in a rematch of last year's district championship game.
