Dear School of the Osage Students, Families, and Community-
I hope this email finds you and your family well. We are looking forward to next week! Our first session of online summer school is starting. Many have enrolled already, but there is still time to do so. As of today, buildings have sent home individual recommendations for summer learning to aid you in your decision making. We are also planning an additional online session AND a seated program for July. As we’ve all learned this year, plans can change- and I will continue to keep you posted.
We are also looking forward to having some students heading back to campus for weights and conditioning on Monday. Those who are participating in this opportunity have been in touch (or will) with their coaches, who will meet students in the parking lot to explain social distancing procedures. All workouts will be non-contact.
Our summer food distribution procedures will also begin next week. Food distribution will be every Wednesday at either Heritage or UE, starting the 3rd of June, through July 1st being the last distribution of this type. July meals will be served starting July 13th at High School and Heritage. Pick up will be available as well at High School and Heritage through July 30th. We may also offer this weekly in August until school starts, though we haven't finalized that plan yet.
Graduation for the Class of 2020 is still on track for June 18th at 8:00pm. You can access more information here.
We appreciate your patience and grace this year as we adapted quickly in response to the district closure. As you know, we have taken action to design our re-entry plan for the school year ahead. We are so grateful to all of you for your continued feedback and support. We are confident that, as a team, we can all work together to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for students and staff. We encourage you to reach out with additional questions or concerns. We are here to serve our students, and we remain ready to overcome any obstacles that come our way.
Dr. Laura Nelson
